Manchester United star Scott McTominay laughed off an ‘awkward’ moment after a golf ball hit his girlfriend while watching Rory McIlroy.

McTominay and his partner Cam Reading have jetted off to the United Arab Emirates to watch the Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament.

The United star was a special guest as he and his plus-one were sat in some of the best seats available at the Emirates Golf Club.

But they got more than they bargained for when a stray ball sailed straight into Cam’s back.
